Pollack Badawi Group LLC (PBG) has been retained by GW Law to fill this position. 

This position presents a rewarding opportunity to help law school students and recent law school graduates begin their legal careers. This is a unique opportunity to create and maintain employer relationships with a wide range of organizations including law firms and nonprofit organizations. This outreach role builds and maintains relationships between employers and GW Law to enhance programs; create job, internship, and externship opportunities; and facilitate the post-graduate employment of students.
This position will report to the Assistant Director, Employer Outreach with the following representative duties and responsibilities:
  • Conduct outreach to potential employers and coordinate employer outreach by faculty, administrators, and alumni. Develop and execute programming and strategies to educate potential employers about GW Law students, expand the number of employers interviewing GW Law students, and advocate for GW Law students with employers nationwide.
  • Cultivate relationships with employers seeking legal talent to fill entry-level and early career attorney and J.D. advantage positions.
  • Manage and increase the number of connections GW Law has with legal employers including small and medium-sized law firms; local, state, and federal governmental agencies; and nonprofit organizations to enhance long-term employment opportunities for students.
  • Assist with legal recruiting and outreach events, including supporting the Assistant Director of Employer Outreach with day-of logistics for live and virtual events.
  • Research and analyze trends in legal job markets, and creates related reports.
  • Develop marketing collateral and implements advertising programs for employer outreach by coordinating the publishing of materials and information related to the Career Center’s programs, activities, and initiatives, including social media postings, flyers, and posters.
  • Collaborate  with career counselors to better understand the career objectives of current students and engages in outreach to employers in those practice areas and geographic areas.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging areas of legal employment.
  • Maintain social media presence with content that conveys information to J.D. students about employers and their respective recruiting activities at GW Law.
  • Maintain current list of employers (including law firms, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies) actively recruiting GW Law students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Excellent relationship-building skills.
•Experience working with a variety of legal employers.
•Demonstrable proficiency using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and similar software.
•Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
•J.D., or experience working in the legal industry or at a professional services organization.
